Feedback webhooks and REST API: connect FDBK to anything

FDBK sends a JSON POST to your server when a post is created, when a post changes status (including merges), and when someone comments. Each request names the event in an FDBK-Event header, is signed so you can check it came from FDBK, and is retried if your server fails. The REST API lists boards, creates posts, changes a post's status, and reads threads and posts team replies. Both are on Pro and Business.

What can I build with them?

Open a ticket in your issue tracker when a bug is posted, sync statuses back from your tracker through the API, tag requests in your CRM, or post to tools other than Slack and Discord.

What happens when my server is down?

Deliveries are retried after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours and 8 hours. An endpoint that keeps failing is turned off so it stops using deliveries.

Can I move feedback in from another tool?

Yes, with the API: it can create posts on a board, so a short script can bring over requests from a spreadsheet or another tool.

Getting started

  1. 01Create an endpoint under Developers.
  2. 02Pick the events and copy the signing secret.
  3. 03Verify the signature on your server.
  4. 04Use an API key for reads and updates.

Free forever for one board. No card.

Questions

Which events are there?
post.created, post.status_changed and comment.created.
What are the API limits?
Requests per minute depend on the plan, and Business has higher limits; the pricing page lists them.

We use Google Analytics to see how people find and use FDBK. No ads, and never on your boards.
