I added the media widget, and the permission prompt for Spotify kept appearing and disappearing; eventually, it stabilized, and I was able to grant the permission.

Thanks for the report! Found it: the music widget checks the player every few seconds and gave up on each check after one second, and macOS closed the permission prompt along with it. So the prompt kept coming back until someone clicked it fast enough. PrimoDock now asks once and waits for your answer, without sending anything to Spotify until you reply. The fix goes out in the next update.
